近期在学习主谓一致的语法，刚刚提了一个关于 a list of…作主语时的主谓一致问题，还有一个问题，就是 a box of…作主语的问题。
a box of…的意思是“一盒……”“一箱……”，如下面是从网上找到的一些例子：
a box of matches 一盒火柴
a box of paints 一盒颜料
a box of crayons 一盒蜡笔
a box of cigars 一盒雪茄烟
a box of tissues 一盒面巾纸
a box of cookies 一盒小甜饼
a box of oranges 一箱橘子
a box of chocolates 一盒巧克力糖
假如这类东西作主语，后面的谓语动词是用单数还是用复数呢？假如从 box 来看，它是单数；假如从a box of 后面的名词来看，它是复数。怎么样确定？以什么为准呢？谢谢！
假如 a box of 后面接的是复数名词，此时的 a box of…作主语，谓语动词可以用单数（视为整体）也可以用复数（考虑其个体）。如：
1. A big box of chocolates was handed round.
一大盒巧克力分给了大伙。（《朗文当代英语辞典》）
2.A box of oranges were divided among the children.
一箱橘子分送给孩子们了。（日本宫川幸久著《解析英文法》）
